World's Best NYE Destination
A trip to Sydney is nothing without a thorough exploration of its beautiful and cosmopolitan beaches. There are, of course the world famous icons like Bondi Beach with its upmarket and upbeat lifestyle, trendy bars and buzzing nightlife. It is also home to the Shore Thing New Year's Eve outdoor concerts where party goers can celebrate with world class acts and DJs, the sand between their toes and the fireworks above..
But don't forget about Coogee, the exclusive and (only just) slightly quieter eastern cousin of the famous Bondi with NYE beach parties and dramatic headlands, or head south to the outer-suburb of Cronulla, a home of surf, sand and fantastic oceanfront relaxation.
Although Bondi is the closest beach to the city centre, the laid back surf lifestyle of Manly, just north of the Sydney Harbour, can be much quicker to get to and is an isthmus between a long and unspoilt surf beach and the harbour itself with a small population friendly and hip locals.
It may be New Year's Eve in Sydney but it’s still summertime! Make sure you strike a balance between city and surf this festive season.
